You are eligible to apply as a transfer student if you have earned postsecondary credit after graduating from high school.

If your educational history includes postsecondary coursework from outside the United States, then you must complete the international admissions requirements listed on this page.

Steps to apply

Application Details

Transcripts

  • All transcripts and examination certificates of non-U.S. secondary and postsecondary coursework in the native language of instruction and a word for word certified, literal (exact) English translation (if applicable).
  • Unofficial transcripts can be uploaded electronically for the review process via the Application Status Page.
  • Official final transcripts and translations are required by July 1 (fall start term) or December 1 (spring start term). They must be sent directly from your institution to New College of Florida by mail or email.

Non-English Transcripts

  • Transcripts and degree certificates/diplomas not issued in English must be accompanied by a certified, literal line-for-line English translation of the original document. Acceptable certified translations are issued by your institution or a professional translating service.

Credential Evaluation

  • A course-by-course credential evaluation, with grade point average (GPA) calculation included, for all non-U.S. coursework.
  • NCF accepts an evaluation from any current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services and any endorsed member of the Association of International Credential Evaluators.
  • Athletes are required to submit a course-by-course credential evaluation with a grade calculation through InCred.
  • Unofficial copies of transcripts and degree certificates still must be submitted with a credential evaluation during the application process.

SAT, ACT, CLT

  • Waived if you possess 30+ transferable semester hours and have completed both a college level math and English composition course with a grade of “C” or better.
  • Once we receive your complete application with transcripts and credential evaluation, we will be able to provide you with your number of transferable credits.

TOEFL or IELTS

  • Waived if you are applying with under 30 transferable semester hours and/or have not completed both a college level math and English composition course with a grade of “C” or better. You will be required to submit SAT, ACT, or CLT test scores.
  • Waived if your country is on the Countries Exempt from English Proficiency list (see below)
  • TOEFL (IBT) minimum score: 80
  • TOEFL (PBT) minimum score: 550
  • IELTS minimum score: 6.0

  • If admission is granted, we will request and collect all required documentation related to the student visa process.

*These deadlines are for incoming foreign national students planning to enter the United States under the F-1 student visa. If you require an F-1 visa, you must deposit by the May 1 deadline to allow enough time for the visa process. All required materials must be received by New College Admissions in order to receive a decision. Please plan ahead to make sure we get all of your materials on time!
